26 Volunteers from 17 chapters in Malaysia, get training and share knowledge with each other for 3 days in Mersing, Johor, Malaysia. The family meetings have become key engagements in Trash Hero organisation’s calendar: as a diverse and dispersed network, they provide the leaders with the vital time and space for immersive, face to face communication that helps to equip and motivate volunteers for the coming months. Although the general perception of mental illness has improved over the years, studies show that stigma against mental illness is still high-powered, massively due to lack of education and media stereotypes, and that people tend to attach negative stigmas to mental health conditions at a far higher rate than to other diseases and disabilities, such as heart disease, diabetes or cancer. Kluang or Flying foxes in English, is located in the center of Johor, Malaysia. This is the only district in Johor that is not at least partially surrounded by sea. Why is it called Kluang?  Older people in Kluang agree that it came from the name of a mammal that flew in the night in search of fruit, the Malayan Flying Fox. This animal considered to be the largest bat in the world. There is also the story of an animal that attacked a fruit farm and had to be called a shaman to drive them away. However, this story cannot be verified by people here. Obviously a village called Kampung Kluang existed before 1910 near this town. The presence of these large bats may have been due to deforestation in central Johor for the purpose of constructing railways and settlements in Kluang. Kluang at the center of the map. In a way to find Anacondas by the host (Biologist: Niall McCann) for his research, there's a few more rare species found by him. The harmony lifestyle of the rainforest species and local people. Everything's looked so good and happy. But who knows recently, the human hands themselves burned that beautiful forest. They'd burned the 20% of world's oxygen supply. How I met Trash Hero Malaysia. It was a coincident when a few months back before July 2019, my family and I always visited Air Papan Beach, Mersing, Johor. Each visit brought me a question why there were always a tonne of trash left by the sea especially on weekends?  Was it because there's no bins provided? Or it's just unmannered attitude of certain people to litter everywhere? The mentality of "oh, we have paid taxes to government. Let the cleaners do their jobs". Highly grateful to be born in a family with good awareness about cleanliness and do not littering practice. There's no such things to throw trash outside the car, leave the full-bin at night, and even leave the trash when picnic.
